Copper Compound Consortium

CLP Information

The CLP Regulation is the new EU legislation on Classification, Labelling and Packaging of substances and mixtures.  This Regulation integrates the classification criteria of the United Nations Globally Harmonised System (GHS) into EU law and will gradually replace the Dangerous Substances Directive (DSD) and the Dangerous Preparations Directive (DPD).

The CLP Regulation stipulates that all substances must be classified and labelled according to the CLP criteria from 1 December 2010 onwards and that all mixtures must be classified and labelled according to the CLP criteria from 1 June 2015.  Furthermore, the classification and labelling of a substance must be notified to a central inventory administered by ECHA within one month of placing it on the market on or after 1 December 2010.

The first notification deadline is 3rd January (the first working day of the year).  With this deadline in mind, proposed classification and labelling for copper compounds of interest to the consortium is provided here.
